Canada

In honor of Canada Day, I have put together a short list of interesting facts I’ve found about our great country:

Canada is the 2nd largest country, area-wise, after Russia.

According to the UN Human Development Index, Canada has the highest quality of life in the world.

Canadians eat more mac n cheese than any other country on earth.

Canada is widely believed to be the home of Santa Claus.

Canada’s national motto is, “From Sea to Sea.”

One tenth of the world’s forests are located in Canada.

There are over 2 million lakes in Canada.

July 1st was Princess Diana’s birthday.

Since 2002, 150 members of the Canadian Forces have died in Afghanistan.

I am really glad to be Canadian.  Usually I think about how great our country is when I happen to be watching the news (which is extremely rare) and see a story about starving children somewhere across the world or hear about another brave soldier who gave his life in Afghanistan for our freedom.

I AM proud to be Canadian.  I’m so thankful for my freedom and really, really thankful to all the men and women who willingly go overseas to protect that freedom.  THANK YOU SOLDIERS!

Get outside and enjoy the fresh air and freedom that we take for granted in this great country we call home.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
